Word of the day: Addiction (upcoming project)

Today, I was browsing through my hard drive, and I found a few snapshots I took as scrap ideas for a project.

A few years back I decided to quit smoking. It was after I got my second tattoo done. I was in Brasov at my friend's D. I walked through half of season of House of Cards. This is what came out of his hands.

So, after the tattoo was done, we went to a club for drinks. Back then, smoking wasn't banned indoors, so I ended up smoking two packs of Pall Mall Blue that night and drinking around ten beers.

We got home around 6 a.m, and I remember that when I woke up around 12 with a damn headache and with heavy breathing, I decided to quit. 2 weeks from that moment I became a ticking time bomb. I stayed indoor mostly; I couldn't stand people. Or that neighbour from 3 smoking. I was battling my addiction.

So, while trying to keep my mind occupied, an idea came to me. What if I could fight addiction, by embracing it. I wanted to capture it visually. So I scribbled the first thing that came to my mind on the first thing I had at hand, in this case, a banana.

The idea was to make a timelapse with the word "addiction" scribbled on fruits and capture them decaying. It's what addiction does to you in a way.

I ended up quitting cigarettes for a year and never finished the project. I'm thinking of picking it up again. Until then, these are the 2 snapshots I took.

I realized, through the years, the only thing I can't quit is smoking. I went days without coffee, alcohol, sweets, salt. Everything people can't quit. But smoking isn't an addiction, it's a passion. I for one love smoking. Reminder: Flowers kill us with all the pollen and they don't even put out oxygen, but we water them and keep them safe, because we love their beauty!

True words my friend! That's what I like about smoking too
