Sure it's fine to do that, it's your blog after all. The kind of stuff that gets pushback or flags is more blatant abuse. Stuff like spamming comments, plagiarizing content from others, trolling/harassing etc. and abusing tags (for example posting regular articles with "introduceyourself" tag to try get more traffic).
In the future you the author will be able to enforce your own rules on the comment section of your blog (although nothing ever gets removed from the blockchain behind the scenes).
