Party Leads to a Floating Art Gallery in My Backyard

in #art3 years ago

As a young girl, I always dreamed of marrying an artist. I longed to be someone's muse. At nineteen, I met my husband @joechiappetta who drew my portrait on our first date and captured my heart. Now, over twenty years, seven homes, three children and countless hills and valleys later, I am grateful to say that I am still his muse, we are still in love, and our home is an artistic hub of fun.

We often enjoy hosting "Art Night" events at our Southern California home where we invite people from all walks of life to come and explore their creativity while enjoying the fun of being in a group. Our guests have shared dance, song, spoken word, drawing and painting pieces with each other. It was an honor to meet @derekrichardson from #socalhive in person for the first time at one of our parties!

At a recent birthday party, we proved that a community art project can be unique, fun and doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Dollar Store plates and permanent markers were used to create individual works. We then taped them all together and floated the joined piece in our backyard pool to create a "Community Floating Art Installation."

The final version of this particular birthday party floating art installation is in the process of being turned into an NFT for an upcoming ArtVndngMchn project! We are excited about ArtVndngMchn Series 3 which is a collection of digitally wrapped and randomized packages of fine art NFTs from 15 international artists on the WAX blockchain. Founded and curated by my husband, ArtVndngMchn was the first to do this with fine art NFTs. Series 3 drops this Saturday, February 26th at 9am PST. Drop Page to Purchase ArtVndngMchn Series 3

At the heart of our Art parties, as well as ArtVndngMchn, is the goal to create community while celebrating our collective creativity.

So, in the midst of all that is heavy in the world today, I just want to encourage us all to not give up celebrating life, creativity, beauty and our relationships with each other. And when we can, pick up some of those Dollar Store markers and have a go at some fun!

How fun, Denise!! What a clever way to get people together, who can resist fun?

What a cool project. :)) I haven't been able to sell myself on the NFTs even though my head knows better! I still want to touch it! :(

Doesnt every girl want to be a muse?? ❤ I would probably get run out of town saying that nowadays!!

We miss you!! Nice to see you and your positive attitude!

Hi Denise! Thanks so much! Yes, it's a fun thing and we like to have a good time :) I think there is still a place in the world for us romantics and hopefully always will be. And being someone's source of inspiration certainly doesn't need to diminish one's own creativity and talent. You won't get run out of my town ;)

I could not love this more! It reminds me of the days when our group of friends used to get together at a local cafe one of them owned. The energy when a group like that comes together is so inspiring!
And, as a pug owner, I have to comment on the little cutie in the video ;)

Thanks so much! Yes, love the energy! We love our little pug Hamilton so much!! He is almost 2 years old and one of the best things to ever happen for our family. I never had a dog until him, and now I feel like, "Oh my goodness... all those years I could have had a dog and didn't!" And of course, I think pugs are just the most fabulous breed ever! How old is your pug? Any pug tips?

Oh wow! Our little Freyja just turned 2 on the 15th! She is our second pug. Moxie lived to 15 years. She was our first dog and obviously made an impression!! My only tips are to be sure to not give into that cute face every time he begs for a treat! haha I think at 2 years old you're pretty well versed in the ways of the pug...just keep those wrinkles clean! ;)

Haha! I must admit to being a softie when it comes to that smushed face and treats ;)

Wow, I never saw anything like that before. Beautiful idea. 🤗

Thanks so much @trincowski! It was so much fun to find a new way to "use" the pool, even in winter when it's too cold to swim ;)

On the pool?

Yes, too cold to swim these days, but still putting the pool to work.

What a great event! Sorry to have missed but glad to hear and see it was a success!
