Custom Frames for my latest Painting "The Game of You and Me"

Craftsmanship and Creativity

Are very different in the amount of energy they take from me. The creative episodes, when I work on a painting, can be very exhausting and I need some kind of treat for myself once I am done with it.

Believe it or not but I can relax the best with even more work. Woodwork :-) I am always looking forward to dedicate a full day after a long painting session to building a nice frame for the painting. My mind can relax while I do that...I know exactly what to do and so the craft is very different from the creative process. That's really refreshing.

Now I can start another painting tomorrow ;-)

A good frame gives a painting the last touch...

...now I can't wait to find a nice place for them!

In case that you have missed my post from yesterday...I made a nice little progress documentation about this piece. You can look at this HERE.

God job man, really like this

Wow I really love these two pieces! I know this post is about the frames so yes. very nice choice. However I must say as I am just now discovering your work via this post on frames. I love them! I will now have to go back through your posts and see how you made them. Great color work with all of those translucent effects within your paintings. Ridiculous! (I mean that in such a good way).

Thanks for your words :-)....yes there is quite a bit to discover ;-)

Hey...and thanks for sharing <3

Beautiful piece, and those frames look so classy!

Beautiful diptych! Your frames look nice and clean too, the black frame make for a classy and contemporary look 🤓 The painting is a succesful combination of abstraction and form, as well as a nice balanced, diverse and interesting color palatte. I'll follow you and your work, they remind me a bit of the great Roberto Matta, are you familiar with his work?

Thanks 🙂...yes I came across Matta a few years ago. Felt like his reincarnation when I saw his work...there are some similarities.

Definitely, I bet you love painting extra large pieces too 😎 Matta once visited my father's (also an artist: Philippe Zanolino) house many years ago, he's really an amazing painter and had an incredible use of space... He used to paint with fancy shoes on and claimed never to have gotten any paint on them! Keep it up and be fearless in your art 🤙🏽

I will....what a crazy guy 😉 sounds interesting...gotta read more about him.

Wow, they look like visual music.
Hut ab Maestro😉

Hihi...das hört sich schön an 🙂 Danke Dir!

Cool artwork, very electric and charged!
Your website is a good collection of work also!
