Hi Steemit Today in India we celebrate The festival of Lights - Diwali. It is celebrated for the defeat of evil by Good. On this festival the whole country is lit with bright lights. Every household is decorated with beautiful Rangoli an Indian artwork and bright and colorful lights. This festival is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and this time with conscience of not pollute the environment. First let me show you my Diwali look this year and also some decoration work I have done this year at home with my mum's help.
For this year's Diwali I have chosen to wear a Red Pure cotton saree with Mughal Style art on it. I have done the rangoli of the Wheel of light with four different types of colors and it took me almost forty minutes to draw it and Then I have decorated the art by adding some oil lamps. The last picture is of an art I have done using Colorful beads. We deacorate Our houses with these colorful art in hope that our lives would be just as colorful as they are.
On this festival we get excited for the Sweets. We consume huge amount on this day. We greet each other by offering sweets and These are very special gifts we give each other.
During this festival we lit fireworks. But this also has caused the rise in the pullution level and this year the government has took certain measures to control this rise. Not only they are harmful for the environment they also can be very dangerous there were lot of case where many children and adults got hurt due to them. As an alternative we leave Lamps into the sky. Which are more fun and safe than lighting the fireworks.
This Diwali is special as it is my niece's first diwali. And she is more than excited for it.
those fireworks you see near her are just for decoration purposes
I wish all my fellow indians in Steemit A very Happy and Safe Diwali.
