RE: 🎨 "The Dressmaker" - She paints with fabric!

in #art6 years ago

Well, I am trying to be active here. I have travel soon and then house hunting for a week, so my posting will probably be rather sparse, but I shall try.

I love finding a good model. I have a niece who is a great model for me, it's good because I can ask her to stand in odd places where victorian dresses and she LOVES it :) In fact for her graduation pictures (an american tradition) she was the only one in her year book wearing a bustle dress holding an antique parasol and my Italian greyhound and it was sepia toned! You have to love good sports and kindred spirits. :)

OH I can imagine anyone receiving that lovely piece would be through the roof with joy and elation! Once I get settled again I'm getting one of your digital pieces on one of the blockchain sites. I just can't remember which one you were on?

House hunting? Are you planing a move? I'll take your current place!!
A good model is such a plus. When they like what they do and actually help shape the idea.
That photo sounds really interesting. Guess its to personal to post it here?

I'm on makersplace and r.a.r.e, but that one seems a bit buggy so far...

Oh no, Toad Hall isn't going anywhere, but I don't like to spend the winters there, too cold. I stayed last winter and it was freezing, lost power etc.

I'm off to the UK where I like to spend part of the year. And some friends and I are getting a place there, they will stay there year round and I will spend Autumn/Winter there. :)

I see. Would have been a big surprise, if you had sold this wonderful place... Although I'd choose a completely different area for the winter...

I know some people would think Italy or Spain, but my optimal temp is 60s F (15 C) so southern UK is pretty much my ideal Winter temperature. I love a cloudy day and the rain, so I don't know it just suits me.

And it makes Toad Hall sea view and warm Summer sun all the more brillant after a wet Winter. and it is so much better than an New England winter with snow and ice and freezing temperatures, brrrr.

Also I find I long for the city in Autumn and Winter more. It's nicer to take trips into London during these cooler temps. I enjoy culture, galleries, museums in cooler times and in Summer isolation and nature.

I see.. well, makes sense now. Hope you'll find the right place! I know several artists who live in London, if you need some contacts :-)
