Recently I've created mascot for one Far Eastern Russian-Japanese vegetable growing company Evergreen JGC. They wanted me to draw local endemic Far Eastern Tiger eating tomato. This is all about me. I am from Far Eastern city of Russia, Khabarovsk originally. And I am eating tomatoes usually for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
How it's all begin
I've googled for my favorite image of these cute tigers. They are well known for me from my childhood and since dial-up internet. I even remember how I've used same image to design a book cover 15 years ago for local Khabarovsk writer.
Sketches
We had two variants in mind with my client. First one was the Amur Tiger and second - any vegetable character in my style. I've started with the Tiger first.
They loved it but told me about strange feeling about mascot eyes so I've tried few more variations and let them choose.
After all they've asked me to try second way with veggies.
And then they have chosen to continue with the Tiger anyway.
Coloring process
I've saved few steps special for you, guys. These are done in Adobe Photoshop again. Drawn right on the screen of Microsoft Surface Pro 2017.
I liked to add some more strokes but my client asked me to remove them.
Final
Everything was approved finally and they've done few tees out of that image to participate in spring running contest.
