Picasso once said "good artist copy, great artists steal". well here is an example of that. I basically stole the colors from a painting by Alexandre Jacob
to create a new painting, this a very helpful approach to learn about colors.
Try it out! and let me know in the comments, I want to see that you guys come up with.
Cheers! My Blog
I think everything has already been done, so stealing from existing work has become inevitable. That being said, you have made the work your own while leaving the original inspiration present. Very nice work :)
Thank you! yeah that's true I heard that creating something original is about combining things
Being colourblind I've had to steal colour schemes my whole life haha. Realistically, every idea comes from somewhere, I think it's just how much you 'borrow' from another artist is what makes the difference. This was a big deal when I used to do graffiti art. People would have full on punch ups over copied work. Pretty hilarious really to punch on over a painting haha.
Oh, really? that's interesting... when you are doing this, how do you know that you are seeing a good color scheme them?
My professors at college told me this all the time! What's that expression, "copying is the highest form of flattery" lol.
hahahaha that's a good point, rain is a bitch
