When talking about charcoal, for a lot of people black charcoal comes into the mind first. I would even say for the most people. We consider charcoal black. Chalk. Fire, Wood. Than connects to the black colour immediately.
For me it was like that too, since i was drawing and writing dark on white all the time. As a kid and later i knew this contrast more. I was used to it and my eyes like it. It is satisfying to write with a black pen on a white paper sheet. Oddly enough, it gives a good feeling.
When later I discovered that I can get white charcoal pencils, I tried something else. I tried to create something white-on something dark. Firstly I tried white charcoal, and then i tried even salt anr sugar. Some f those works worked out really well. II have already shared those here on Steemit somewhere too.
Until this day this below is the last white charcoal drawing I have made. A dalmatian. I really beautiful dog. one which I wanted to have when i was a child and now too. When I got my current dog, which is a Alaskian malatute and rotweiler mix, I was actually considering getting a dalmatian. I think they are something still undiscovered in this world. Something still unique and out of this world I would say. Their look, their natural personalities are incredible. I have met some of them in my life and they are awesome dogs.

+++++exactly. I just spent one hour here on Steemit searching posts and creative people and i found sooo much
Wow is awesome the way you did the fur of the dogs! I love how you see those little lines that give life to that beautiful drawing I must admit that you are very good using those techniques :)
Thank you:) Well as the time went by, I noticed that the small details and every stripe adds up in the end
I think it is harder to draw with white charcoal. But your drawing turned out great!
Yes indeed it might be like that. Where have you been ?
Are you from Romania by any chance? Just basing my assumption on your username.

great art with charcoal !😲 😲
Thanks:))
Frankly say wow superb art with charcoal... always you done best..
Great artwork! I have never tried white charcoal, is it same as black?
Well it is sure different. The pencil itself is not so hard and the feeling while drawing with it is different. And it is harder to sharpen it too
Oh! Thank you for the info. Will need to try this out soon. Looks really cool.
Yea i still think thee are more awesome ways to use it, i am learning too
No! It is neater, but needs more pressure since you'd be drawing on black paper. The ultimate difference however is configuring your mind to see the lighter shades instead of the darker ones in normal drawing.
Fantastic work!
Yes i can lol, great work! This negative drawing style is more challenging.
++++true it is
