Whenever I am starting a drawing, I devote time to planning. I plan the proportions, lines, how the drawing will look at the end in general.
I start with a soft basic core. Very loose and blurry lines, just so I could see them. That is to avoid making any mistakes, with pushing hard at the very beginning. Then the work develops itself step by step, and actually i see every drawing from two sides. I see the end result i want to get, and the look for which I am going for. I see the final image in my mind and the goal. It might be something original i have only in my mind, or I have already some sketches done for it, or it could a a portrait, commission for example.
Then i see every work from a technical standpoint. I see the steps I need to do. The more complex the work is, the more steps i see. I kind of a break down every work in parts. Then i am completing every level, like in a game, and then when I go through each one, i can finish it. And there is no step you can leave behind or overtake.

Man your technical approach is working :) As I told you before that eye is so cool and you even inspired me to do an eye later hahah. The way you placed it dead center is also part of what makes this peice strong though.
Woho that is awesome! It is true, you can a lot with an eye
Oh yes I have made the eye inspired by you :) I don't like sharing links on other peoples posts so just check it out on my channel. :)
It is a great effect. It seems that the eye watches over us
Thank you:)
I always feel like when i hit a wall in creativity, I need to put my pencil down and go about my day. Then during my routine day or in bed thinking about things a great idea comes out of nowhere and thank myself for having patience instead of forcing something that was not flowing easily. Best of luck
oh i can actually relate to this a lot! Thanks:)
