Human Eye Developing In A Portrait Drawing By EdgarsArt

in #art7 years ago

Eyes are the very first thing i am drawing in every work. Portrait or any animal drawing, i am starting with eyes every time. Any kind of works which has eyes in it, i am going through the same path. Now then i can draw everything else around them. Even when i was drawing a year ago, a cat drawing where the cat had the eyes, both eyes, closed, i also started to draw with the eyes. Then i just had to draw more of a black lines and nothing else, but still i did that first and then moved forward.
Pupil is the smaller, inner hole in the middle of the eye. You have to fill that hole completely dark. This should be really dark. To make the eye look realistic, you need a blob of light usually and a good place to put it is above and below the pupil. That really puts that extra touch to it, that small little aspect changes the drawing dramatically. I am usually making the rough outline like you can see below in the very beginning, but in the end later i am just using an eraser to lighten it, which takes about one second, to put that spark into it and the eye is shining and looks amazing. Not a hard thing to do actually, but makes a 100 percent difference.
