Worked almost 5 hours yesterday on the details, still drawing one side of the face. Made one closeup photo too around the eye, so that the details can be seen. Actually i need 2 times more of them to get the final look. Only then i will be able to move forward.

As you can see i have some guidelines here too, just to know where i will have some darker and lighter spaces, and the overall shape o the frame. Everything else i am adding just right on the spot.
In this i am using dark charcoal pencil. Sometimes i have used medium or light pencil, but for the last year i think i stopped that, since i actually can get the result i want with only one type. I guess i just trained my hand to push harder or not to do that in certain places to get darker or lighter lines. And if anything i will correct everything later with an eraser anyway.
So my technique now is just to add details. I am putting layers of details, then smudging everything with a brush, blowing the charcoal away and starting to draw another layer again. By doing that i have this change which you can see in the first and third photo. And i am not finished yet. Will do the same about 3 or 4 times more. Only then the texture of the skin will be right. And that is only for this little space, which is not even a half. It looks like it is going to be a very long road in this one.
Actually i have one new commission to do too.A turtle! Going to start that one too. In the evening i think i will have some hours to devote to that one. It wont be on large size paper, so i will do that with 2B pencil and maybe ill make some photos too!
