Here are some process shots of my current 4 panel work in progress. This is an example of what I would deem "my shtick", or my process when it comes to art. For a while in the past few years I tried to explore a little more doing watercolour painting, collage, and exploring different subjects. I love landscapes and always have, but I also have my own developed "mark", which harkens back to the days of my Bachelor's Thesis work.
These repeating lines come from the concept of Synesthesia - " a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway". Experiencing colours as vibrations of sound, and then back as visual representations of sound waves. I end up with a dynamic texture, full of movement and dimension.
I am looking forward to returning to my studio tomorrow to continue painting. The process of painting all the repeating fine lines is slow and delicate, but also meditative. I will also build myself a large flat storage shelf for my art supplies out of ikea furniture
After using Turquoise to paint the hills, I paint the sky with the canvases upside down to avoid drips.
This is lovely dear... Would love to see more of self-inspired artworks like this from you. You are indeed a great artist.
Thank you! That's so sweet :)
Cool work, and welcome to Steemit @elainepaints
