Hey dear hive community, as always I would like to welcome you with kind words and hope you are all well! Today I would like to present you pictures of an interesting work of art that is mythologically strongly anchored and hope you like my post.
You can see here an extravagant work of art which was probably made of stone and presents an Asian stone lantern. I think the work of art looks very authentic and the artist has shown a lot of tact and patience and I personally find works like this very interesting. The bell-shaped roof has a great charisma and the ornaments create as well as the symbols on the outside a special flair that brings out one part of Asian mythology very well.
The history of this type of lanterns can be traced back to ancient Japan and China and are traditionally made of stone, wood or metal. This type of lantern is also called Toro and is often found in Buddhist temples or Asian gardens and when the light burns, it was considered an offering to Buddha. Even if the construction method is often different, the symbolic structure is often the same, the lower part which comes into contact with the ground stands for Chi, the earth. The part about for sui what water means and the part in which the light burns is called ka what stands for fire. The last two sections stand for fu what wind means and ku for the void.
These five elements are also associated with Buddhism and represent the 5 elements of Buddhist cosmology. Symbolically, these types of lanterns can help keep evil forces away and are often seen as a sign between humans and nature and are often used for rituals or ceremonies. It is often decorated with different symbolism, such as in my pictures with a crescent and a sun. The light of stone lanterns also often symbolizes the light of the different gods.
Thanks for stopping by and watching! I captured the pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 and 55-210mm lens!
