First coat of oil paint done. This one is a bit different, it will be in the exhibit but marked as Not for sale because i will mount the antlers of my husbands first white tail on it.
Here is what i hope it will look like when im done. The antlers will be mounted at the top. I learned european skull mount from a gentleman in his 80s back home in northern Sweden and have mounted both moose and deer skulls on my on after that. In Europe taxidermied mounts are rare because its very expensive.
Anywho. The second picture are of the antlers, wood and my drawing from Photoshop. I knew these antlers where from my husbands first white tail so I wanted to make it special, not just mount it on a piece of wood. When i showed him the sketch for what my plan was he told me it very much reminded him of how it was when he spotted the white tail. I had no idea but im very excited that i managed to capture the moment for him :)

We're so very in sync, it's almost if you were there. I really look forward to it being completed, it would be my first ever mount, for my ugly first buck!
