When you look back and remember all the things people have told you and realize most of it was lies. It's not like they mean any harm but they don't know any better. You know that little white lie you tell to make someone feel better to spare the feelings of someone who you care about.
How about Santa Clause riding on a sled to deliver presents to every boy and girl on the planet. We tell stories and it changes just a little upon the situation we are dealing with. People lie sometimes as a defense or to avoid someone they would rather not sit for 20 mins talking to someone.
To trust someone not to lie to you is to have nothing to worry about being lied to. I know some people go to great lengths not to lie but it's apart of being human. If you feel threatened enough or perhaps you're protecting your children wouldn't you lie if it worked to protect them? What this means is to have a realistic range of expectations when dealing with humans or any intellectual type for that matter. We all have our own perception of what that line is and we guard it with our lives.
Maybe someday people won't have to lie and that will happen when people stop judging other people for mundane things and start accepting the differences of other people that they themselves don't understand. You don't have to agree or like it but don't attack it and have a sense of common respect for each other and all things.
