Today ill be sharing the process behind my latest prisma color pencil drawing. My favorite color pencils to use are prismas because they have an oil type feel to them. The way they blend together and the vibrancy they produce is like no other.
I start off by creating a sketch in pencil and once I have the proportions set I use an eraser to lighten the pencil marks so they wont affect the colors.
After this I start by using yellow and working from the lighter areas into the darker ones.
At the end I add the darkest tones using a dark umber and black color pencil. And ill blend out the skin using a cream or white color to soften the roughness of the color pencils.
This was the finished piece :)
I enjoy drawing strangers, it makes good practice and I just enjoy capturing the essence of their expressions. I mostly work from photos but I really want to start using live models.
Anyway I hope you all enjoyed seeing it go from a sketch to a completed drawing.

Great work, The blending almost makes it look like an oil painting. Makes me want to break out the prisma colour pencils.
Very lovely, Eddie :) The profile is very nicely captured, and her emotions are well conveyed. There's something quite thoughtful with how she held her head here :) Love the colours and the step by step is super nice, too <3
This is wonderful! It's so amazing, well done!
