Hello dear Friends ! Today I would like to present you French Landscape painter Charles-Francois Daubigny ( 1817 – 1878 ), one of the painters of the Barbizon school. Daubigny painted calm, domestic landscapes, especially along the waterways of France. His study of gradueted reflections of light and the broader brushwork of his later years link him with Impressionism.

Daubigny earned his living for a time with book illustrations, but in 1848 had his first success in the Salon with five landscapes from the Morvan district. His reputation was established and he even received commissions for landscapes, which was most unusual at the time.

Daubigny's famous studio – boat ' Le Bottin ' was launched in 1857 , and in it he travelled and painted the waterways of France, he painted along the Seine and Oise, and in the region around Auvers. This idea was later imitated by Manet.

Thank you very much for stopping by and for your support !!! It's been a while since I used to post on Steemit ... Now I'm back, but here on Hive. I see some things have changed. There are some good art communities such as Sketchbook, but I wasn't sure if I can participate. I'm not an artist myself, but I love art and I post about the great masters of the past. I have not very much voting power, but I try to support artists as good as I can.
