Hello STEEM Crew,
This will be my first post to STEEMit, so I think I should start by introducing myself. My name is Jonathan Joseph Gotfryd and I'm a practicing designer with a professional focus on architectural design, and a personal focus on digital media art. I've received an Honours Bachelor of Science, double specializing in physics and philosophy; and a Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto. I've been working on an artist statement recently, so I might as well post that here, as further introduction to my artistic approach and as a brief preamble to the topics I hope to blog about in future.

Artist Statement
Since the beginning of my formal training in the visual arts, I have been interested in depicting the various interfaces between light and matter. This interest first emerged with my study of still life, grew to incorporate studies in life drawing, and has since deepened its roots in my approach to art. Today it is the primary subject matter of my artistic explorations. The interfaces between mind and body, perception and reality, and the realm of interpersonal meaning in language based interactions, have all played a role in guiding me to draw, paint, sculpt and code. Through my work, I hope to engage in an artistic mode of expression that operates within the current philosophical and scientific frameworks that are beginning to bridge the gaps between previously isolated cultures and social networks, and in which the very definition of reality has multiplied to incorporate an ever broadening spectrum of personal understanding.
