Getting your mojo back as an Artist who's been out of the game for a while now

in #art7 years ago (edited)

My early days as an artist were filled with mixed feelings about my art and whether it would have an impact at all.I stopped drawing for a while(a pretty long time).Later on,I got inspired by artist who I saw were doing amazing works,I decided to get back in the game.I got a pencil and when I tried to draw it was like I had never known how to draw before(seriously,I was terrible).It took a lot of time and practice to get me back on track-ish(I'm still in the recovery process),wish I could get back all the time I wasted.Here are some helpful tips to help you get back on your feet;
1)Practice makes perfect:This is probably the most effective of all,you got to devote time everyday to be creative.As you put in more effort everyday,your mind and body gets more involved and used to the creative process thereby making your art transform.
2)Do Imagination workouts:At the end of the day,your imagination plays a very big role in the creative process.Strengten your imagination .Let it be like you're copying pictures or art done by other artist everytime you draw from your head,may sound hard,yes it is..But artist are doing it and so can you too.Observe an object,any person,landscape for sometime,then try to reproduce it on paper without looking back again.The more detailed,the more of a davinci you're becoming.
3)Get good art media:You put a lot of time and effort into an artwork and when you are all done,you realise it looks a little-"MEH".The tools you use really matter,whether you're a B/W or colour artist.
4)Do not over-stress yourself:Try not to get upset when you think you aren't making any progress.Relax,it may just be you in the end.Get some audience,people who judge your works from time to time.Dont stress it,as far as you keep working towards being better,you'll be great.All in good time.images(4).jpg
