A sad anniversary

in #art2 years ago

Last year today my beloved father and mentor Jaroslav Gric passed away due to a misdiagnosis of incompetent doctors. He introduced me into the arts early on and gave me all his support. My love to the mountains and to nature in general is also something I inherited from him.

Here are some of his ink drawings and sculptures. I was undoubtedly influenced by his work, especially with my early paintings, but not only.

I'm speechless! But at least you have nice memories for the time you shared with a great man, and father!

Great memory and tribute, he really looked a great man

Blessings, dear @gric - I am so sorry for your loss, and for the loss of such a potent and beautiful creative force in the world. Thank you so very much for sharing his art here: it is spectacular and inspiring indeed.
Healing wishes,
Clare.

Thank you @clareartista!

Condolences, RIP. His works are astonishing, now I see where the style is coming. And, take care.

Dear Peter,
when I look at the lead picture, the likeness between you and your father is very strong. Has it been a year already? This is a very touching post. I remember your father well, such a wonderful man! He lives on within you, but also through his art.
Reposted, and I am sharing this on my personal twitter account:

I value your friendship, and honor his legacy.

Thank you so much Otto! Hope to meet you again sometimes!

Hoping for normal times and the return of sanity so we can resume like before. It is a nasty world out there right now.

I'm afraid that's just the beginning...

I didnt know your dad but just from what you show us, he seemed like one of a man
and especially like a very special father! :)

So sorry to hear you lost your dad. There is no bond like that of a father and son.

I had no idea he was an artist too! Awesome work. It seems his influence was quite strong on you.

BTW, that backpack chair is awesome! You got a great view from there.

Thank you Rick!
Yes, I spent quite some time in this chair while we were hiking in the mountains!

Hello Peter, my deep condolences to you and your family for your loss. Your father was a great artist. His big influence is so much seen in your art works. He is now resting in peace I am sure... knowing you continue the legacy you have learned from him.

Thank you!
