🎨 The Eternal Family (original painting)

in #art7 years ago (edited)

This is another of my early pieces from my time at the Academy of Arts in Vienna. I always called it Old Trees, however, today I decided to change the title to The Eternal Family.

Old Trees was an interesting title, but The Eternal Family is more poetic. About 10 years ago, I fell in love with a painting, and it was the combination of the picture and the title that gave it the overall potency.
The title of the painting was like the base note of a perfume.

I did that recently too, renamed one of my old paintings. Or rather... I removed the old title... still undecided regarding the new one.

When I look at my old paintings today I realize that they are not the same as they were back then. They are different now, like if they aged and matured. Of course they didn't actually change, but they reveal something I didn't see in them before, and it all makes perfect sense. They are all connected in some sort of self-unfolding symphony.

Just imagine how badass, poetic, and revealing they are going to be in 40 years or so.... :)

That's the plan! :-)

Beautiful! Make me think about Mars. 😊 How could I miss this one? I don't remember it!

I don't know why but I didn't include this in my web gallery. I'm not even sure if I've ever posted it on my facebook page. I guess I forgot about it.

Das letzte foto ist so wunderschön, könntest ein bild daraus machen! :-)

Danke Vesna! Ich werde den Gedanken mal 30 Jahre oder so festhalten! :-)

Never seen this one before.

It was kind of lost...

Amazing... just marvelous piece of art! Old Trees also very effective name but the eternal family is great. Loves and hugs from Spain.

Thank you so much @funworlding!

Ooh wow. I love how the textures of the trees and rocks are similar, and the poling out twigs kind of reflect the cracks in the canyon wall they're pointing to, and all the tree paintings on the walls. And everything really XD

(and only vaguely related the tree twigs remind me of the vertices that had missed being weight mapped when I was trying to fix up my rig yesterday)

You're probably getting sick of hearing about how much I love the textures in your works, but I really do.

Thank you @ryivhnn! I love to hear what other people see in my paintings. These new perspectives give me sometimes ideas for new paintings.

number 3 is a picture of art by itself. love it!

Yes, sometimes I find a detail of a painting interesting enough to make a new painting out of it!

Such amazing detail for a relatively small piece. Awesome!

Thanks Adam!

got a really eerie feel to this, make's me think of a different uninhabitable planet maybe something that we find in the future and all mankind have to move there as earths resources have depleted and we have to start again.
Nice work my friend keep it up :)
