I remember seeing works like this from you years ago. It's interesting having a refresher of where you came from and how your work has evolved from then.
This was when I started to use the computer to build 3D-references for my paintings.
It looks like a puzzle, is it really the puzzle?
You mean a labyrinth? Yes, it is a kind of a 3D-maze.
Looks like an interesting place to explore, and the kind of place that would have an interesting backstory :)
It's based on a 3d-modeled structure. I also used it for a few other paintings:
Love the detail on the wall! What is it? The drawing reminds me of these stepped wells I visited once. And it feels like it could be a part of an Egyptian Palace or so.
Thank you @manouche! That structure doesn't really exist, I built it completely in 3D-software and I used it as a reference for several paintings from various perspectives.
You've still paid attention to what goes on the walls in 3d software and it looks so real. Kudos!
