Today, I'll show you the process of the drawing and the colouring of an illustration I made 2 years ago. I had to draw a character on the theme "heavy metal".
I began with a quick sketch, directly on a new Photoshop file. I added layers to redraw it and add details until the line was good.
Aujourd'hui, je vais vous montrer le processus de dessin et de mise en couleur d'une illustration réalisée il y a 2 ans, dont le thème était "heavy metal".
J'ai commencé par un croquis rapide, directement dans Photoshop. J'ai ensuite ajouté un calque transparent par dessus le croquis de départ pour "décalquer" en affinant et en détaillant le personnage. J'ai répété l'opération jusqu'à obtenir un dessin au trait qui me semblait correct et intéressant.
At this point, the pose was correct. I could add the final touch : the tatoos and the pattern of the T shirt.
A ce stade, j'étais satisfaite. Ne manquait plus que la touche finale : les tatouages et le motif du T shirt...
Let's color it now :-) I first put the flat colors, and then began to add the light...
Il est temps de passer à la couleur! J'ai commencé par poser des aplats, pour donner un ton général, puis j'ai ajouté les touches de lumières, et enfin les détails...
And here we are! A few more details and adjustments, and a red back light, and here is the final painting!
Et voilà! Après quelques détails supplémentaires, ajustements de couleur, et une légère lumière rouge à l'arrière, voici l'illu terminée!

Its really cool! i can add on another suggestion, if your computer allows you to record the whole process of your work into a short video, you can have another post =D

Really nice!! Foreshortening has never been my strong suit, but you nailed it. I think my favourite things about this is the linework and colour scheme - the tattoos and shirt designs were a really nice little detail. Fantastic stuff, I can't wait to see more from you!
PS: I'm a lazy american so I rarely use the accents when I write out my name, but Hélène is my middle name! Clearly your family had good taste ;)

The results look excellent. Clearly you have a lot of talent in this area. I like the little detail, they seem to really bring the image to life - the tattoos and shirt design, the touches of light. I assume you use a drawing pad, if so which one do you use?
Thanks a lot @naquoya!! Yes, I use a drawing pad. I use the Cintiq 21UX. It's wonderfull, it works perfectly!

Elle a bien la haine! Par contre sa pose correspond un peu moins à l'attitude voulue et son torse est un peu distendu mais ça le fait! Bravo!
