Building Banjii
So for a while no I have been posting some concept work that I have been doing. I would have to say that in general I am not a character modeler. My specialty is in architecture and environments. While I do other work including digital interpretation of traditional media such as a modernist portrait or a watercolor rendering of one of the buildings that I have designed, character modeling is one of my least used skills.
To date I have not been very impressed with many of the things that I have produced. https://steemit.com/art/@iamwne/testing-chester-character-concepting-wip is one recent example and I would have to give it a C if I were grading it. Maybe C-. But that is all water under the bridge at this point.
Meet Banjii
So as a part of the robots that I have been trying to create the director on the project gives me sort of quick bio on the characters that I have been creating. This is Banjii he is a security sentry with a bad disposition.
Banjii was modeled in Pixologic Zbrush 4R8. Zbrush is an extremely powerful tool modeling and texturing 3d content. It used to create a wide varriety of 3d content for a wide variety of applications. You see the work of Zbrush in everything from games to feature animation and theatrical motion pictures.
You Might Notice
If you have been following this series you will notice that all of the examples that I have done have been busts. Todate this is what has been requested of me by the client. He knows that character art is not my strong suit but has been willing to pay for concepts. He suggested just doing busts to see if I could create anything of interest.
So What Do You Think?
I am really interested in feedback. Specially from other character artists. I would really like to grow my skills in this area but I find that I am struggling. I feel a bit intimidated when I look online and see the work that others are doing. So any ideas or critique are appreciated.
Also if you happened to like this work. As always give me an upvote, follow, and perhaps resteem. Being a freelance artist has its own rewards but sometimes finances are not one of them. So you upvotes and resteems go a long way to help me keep up financially.
Great post
I have no suggestion but i can give you my blessings
