Abstracted Art

Not so long ago, i hated abstract art.
till i understood that the only abstract art i hated was Jackson Pollock's art. (which is ironic knowing he's the maker of the abstract expressionism movement)
saw an image of a certain abstract art piece that i do not know the name of on the Canvas youtube channel.
it depicted the image of a person's head split in have in what looked like a waves in black and white with a pattern of zigzags and i could tell it was a person's head due to the ears on both sides.

it didn't look like a hundred random splashes of paint. i believe there are millions of ways to draw. but the "drip technique" can also be the same as pouring it by accident on a canvas on the floor. as long as there is an effort, an intelligible image to actually see no matter how strange looking.

is art subjective? yes. is every piece of canvas with paint an art? no. at least in my personal opinion. i do not call random patterns with paint a high art. intelligent, respectful and impressive art is what i do respect.

and that one image, gave me an incentive to think of abstract expressionism differently as a person who does admire art.

at first i was fooled into thinking the Mona Lisa was one of the first optical illusion arts when it turns out, it was valued because it was simply a "lost and found". knowing it wasn't the best or the most mind boggling piece of art recently, it is now obvious why people think it's a disappointing piece of art regardless to it's fame.
