Wolf in color - art original

in #art7 years ago

Welcome friends!

The wolves are animals so strong, they intimidate anyone. There are many legends that have these animals as protagonists, and for this reason they have become a famous species within the animal kingdom. That's why I felt inspired to draw a wolf, and I wanted to make it colorful and different. Here I show you the final result and later you can see the process.

Drawing (Final result)

Materials:
-Paper sheet.
-Graphite pencil.
-Colors.
-Markers.
-Draft.

Process

I started the drawing with the graphite pencil to trace the lines of the silhouette of the wolf and the fur. I was very careful to mark the lines very well since they play a fundamental role in the development of the drawing. If the lines go wrong, I could not continue with the design. Fortunately I got the silhouette I wanted.

For this part of the drawing I used thin-tip markers, since these allow to draw finer lines, and to make details in small areas. I started from the nose of the wolf using black marker, then using two shades of green I advanced to the head, from there I continued drawing lines towards the left side of the drawing, using four shades of blue. I also painted part of the fur of the neck with yellow and red tones.

I continued painting to complete the body of the wolf, trying to create a harmonic union between the colors of different shades. Painting the wolf's snout was a difficult task because of the degradation I had to do, but I was able to achieve it and continue with the drawing.

To fill in the blanks I used colors. With these I could paint degradations and improve the drawing. I started with the ears of the wolf, which I painted using a pink tone for the inner part, and blue tones for the exterior.

I continued filling in the blanks, trying to improve the connections between the colors. This is a process that takes work because it is necessary to pay attention to where to mark with more force the color so that it covers the surface better.

I noticed that the area of the muzzle and the lower fur still had discolored spaces, so I covered those areas with more color to improve the drawing. I worked until I got the desired result.

The drawing looked very good until the previous photo, but I felt that it needed lighting. So I took the eraser to remove some color in some areas, and give points of light to the drawing. For this I used an elongated and thin eraser, with which I could erase the areas I wanted without damaging other parts of the drawing. Below I show you what was the final result.

Drawing this wolf was a great challenge for me, especially due to the degradation of colors. However, I enjoyed a lot while doing it, and I satisfied with the result. What a colorful wolf. :) I'm surprised to be honest that you managed to color it up with so short pencils.. I'd have given that up already and get new ones. xD Thank you so much for sharing your progress!

Cheers!

hahaha, yes, the pencils are very small because I have used them a lot, I hope to replace them with new colors soon. Thank you very much for commenting.

Haha, yeah. Anytime and cheers!

Saludos.
