Sometimes it takes a little sadness...

When it comes to inspiration or what moves you it isn't always necessarily happiness that gets us going. Sometimes life has to throw you in the darkness to see where the light needs to shine on and in our artwork. IMG_20170619_204219.jpg

That is true, dear. You know Edgar Allan Poe? His stories tend to have the same recurring theme of either death, lost love or both. He was disoriented but was able to produce amazing works of art. You got here a magnificent art, by the way.

I love Poe! And thank you very much this painting has sat for a full year and I finally picked it and and had to work on it. My previous post was about art that we set aside. And put off til the time is right....which sometimes never comes. Life is worth feeling emotionally and portraying it for others!

Very well said, dear. And you are welcome.

I believe that not only applies to art, but music, or 'the arts', as well as relationships of all kinds. When we are sad, we have an appreciation of 'happy' and in turn empathy for others who grow sad. The balance is of course not staying sad, but turning it into something to go on from.

Absolutely! I paint what I feel and I'm very glad to outlet the emotion onto canvas! But it's applied to everything I encounter that produces emotion. It's applied in some way so I can get through it properly!!
