As part of the Nicolas Feuillate sponsored part of the bar, I had to create 2 ice columns replicating the design of the columns in the Nicolas Feuillate head office's lounge area. The actual columns are cylindrical, but mine had to be a relief. I still wanted it to look like the pucks are wrapping around the curvy columns at a slanted angle.
Not only did I had to orient everything slanted, but the curved grid I used the guide me also had to be warped to create a perspective effect. I first traced the grid vertically and horizontally with the warp effect. The lines on the sides are closer to each other than the ones in the center. They also follow the curves of the columns. I then traced a second slanted grid by connecting all the intersections.
I used a die grinder to carve down all of it. That was tedious. Not recommended for people with carpal tunnel syndrome! Here's a few more picture of the finished product with lights.
Wow.. That's colour!
