I am at a loss to understanding
The reasons why you are not beside me

In my last post I showed the process work in a series of photographs documenting a recent watercolor painting I did. Since it was such a detailed and time-consuming sketch I decided to give it its own post as an artwork, whereas this post focuses on the illustration for my illustrated poetry series I've written about before: Handwritten Reveries. Picking up where I left off in the last post I had a watercolor painting (that I made with vine and watercolor pigments), pen and ink, completed in a sketchbook. I also handwrote the poetry line on another page, playing with the contrast and brightness in order to make the background as white a possible. Then I took the painting and edited it in Photoshop along with the quote to take it to clean up some of the imperfections, format it for print-ready post (yes, I've just started selling prints now!) and take it to the next level. I was super happy with the results and really excited about the progress I've been making on the series now. I just need to pick up the speed and produce more! Keep following along if you want to see more like this!

Check out Handwritten Reveries on Instagram and read more about the project on my Steemit post

See illustrations from the series that I’ve posted on Steemit:

"Maybe I love you more…"
"I want to love like a wildflower"
"And there you were…"
"And if I can’t find the words to say…"
"I could be your eternal audience"
"This is what love looks like"

Oh IT even if it is short the lines have so much feelings and emotions that just draws you in.

The accompanying image further strengthens that emotion.

You are indeed so talented and I'm happy to see that you got a curie on this!

you are so sweet. happy to be back and re-reading your words of encouragement <3

That's a very accurate illustration, the message would still be clear without any words. Beautiful!

awww thanks so much @promisearts <3 i try to make each of them powerful as standalone, but better together. kind of like people :)

You're welcome, keep it up!

Beautiful art work and a great idea editing it to add the quote it works so well

thanks! its all part of the series ive been working out - you should definitely check out the others if youre into illustrations or poetry. there are a couple others that are a bit more striking :)

Will check them out this evening when I have time 👍

I think this is the shortest one you have made :) And it feels a little strange, especially with the long paragraph afterwards and the detailed drawing.

I really like the shading on the skin, especially on the back and the right hand. But the thick line surrounding the silhouette seems a little out of place somehow, as if it were a layer of dark electricity, a comic-book aura. The hair also seems nylon-ey or like a dog's after months of not having it cut or washed.

yea was trying new stuff on this one, and ultimately im super happy with the way it came out. one of the better illustrations in my mind, although not my favorite over all. it broke the block spell i had tho! so thats soooooo nice :D on to the next ones!

I think it's one of the best illustrations you've done besides the girl holding her neck. I see nothing wrong with it. She's beautiful.

thanks for that :) definitely spent the most time on it. its less of a sketch and more of a painting just because its a higher level of fidelity. hoping to knock out a few more low fi ones as I'm trying to wrap this painting up I've been working on :)

That is a great drawing!

thanks so much for the love <3

This is so beautiful! The illustration is amazing and the quote in it is almost like a painting on itself. @maverickinvictus suggested your Steemit to me and I'm glad he did :)
