PENCIL ARTS: The Drawer gets Carved

in #art7 years ago

Let me begin by stating that

I've learnt a lot from the pencil in the past one hour than I have all my life and believe you me, he is the last person I would have ever thought would teach me something worth the while.

You'll discover what I learnt later on in this post.

I went on routine inspection (it has become a habit) on the Sola platform possibly searching for something that could pass as art.

Usually, it takes sometime before I discover anything I love and I think the steemit community would love as well but today was quite different as the first post I met on Sola contained the images I have here.

I do not know the name of the artist/sculptor but he did a good work and I would love to meet him, shake his hands and say

"Well done."

I hope you love them as well as I do.

LESSONS FROM THE PENCIL

The pencil is one instrument that I would want to believe has been used by everyone in every nook and cranny of the world. It could even pass as the most used instrument. It could be used as a writing material in schools, as a drawing instrument for artists, a dagger for self-defence, it can be used for experiments by physicists and chemists, used by families to teach their kids how to write/draw etc.

So many uses and sometimes we even end up eating it's butt and spitting it out. But that has never deterred the pencil has it? It has never been lazy or slow to complete the task you assign it. It has never complained.

What lesson can you draw from it?

Faithful and patient service in the face of difficulty or hatred is one task that is naturally disheartening and almost impossible unless there is a force acting on the subject affected. When there are no physical or emotional appearances that portray actual acceptance or show forth some form of appreciation, any one could feel discouraged and fail to execute his/her daily duties as expected.

image

Any one could get demoralized in the face of such, any one could decide to quit and start afresh but today that's not the case with the pencil.

He has been used day in and out but never been decorated and yet he has still been faithful in his service to the world without complaints and today he was decorate massively.

One lesson to be learnt from the pencil is this,

"...that no matter how long it takes, you could always keep up the good work you're known for or expected to carry out and one-day, you'll be rewarded massively, one day, you'll be highly decorated."
