HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !
I made a quickie art heart to celebrate that I love you. ❤️
It took 20 minutes ! For real, you were expecting a masterpiece in that kind of time ??? ha ha
Do you celebrate or acknowledge Valentine's Day?
I have celebrated it in the past. Celebrate maybe sounds more exciting than I mean.
I am not a high maintenance woman when it comes to the male/female relationships. I never had to have "the works" for the holidays (ok, maybe a little more at Christmas 😊). Is Valentine's really a holiday? I mean, nobody gets a paid day off for it... right ? Anyway, I suppose I did like being acknowledged when I was in a relationship or marriage, just because it was loud and splattered all over the place at least a month in advance, but a well thought out card, handmade or bought, was enough to say you thought of me in a special way.
Sure, if man did more, flowers or candy or a nice meal out, or something else out of the norm, that was all icing on the cake, but nobody would get a relationship "ding" if there was a card, a snug hug and a good long kiss.
Sufficiently acknowledged in my book. 💙
I've been single over 20 years. I've spent some time with a nice man or two from time to time, but nothing serious. I have never felt left out or sad on Valentine's because it is just me. Now if I want something Valentiney, I buy it for myself....LOL.... as you can tell from my last couple of posts. I do spoil me, but I'm totally worth it.
For holidays other than Christmas, I don't keep a lot of holiday decor. Except for a small string of heart lights and one other string of 3 bigger hearts, neither of which I put up this year, this is about it for Valentine's Day. I gave it a little corner on one of my tables. The other side has winter doodads. The larger red heart on the springy looking base is a lamp. It looks right cheery lit up at night. A few of the other little pieces, I mostly acquired along the way to use at my desk at work, when I use to have to go somewhere besides my spare bedroom to work.
I made a B & W of the little art piece just for the fun of it. The dashes coming out of the center top look kind of pineapple'ish....or maybe there is an apple stem.
I hope you all have a very fine Valentine's Day. Me? I will be working across the room here and maybe eating some of my favorite candy hearts while I work.

20 minutes for this piece of art? I'm surprised it was done so quickly. I think you might have used a stippling effect here? I think it's great and I like the use of yellow around the heart.

The heart is pretty small, which might help to see why it could be done fast. Only a 5 X 7.
I love the vivid blue and yellow together a lot. Something about it always attracts me.

Happy Valentines Day Jacey 💗 Hope you are having a wonderful evening with the candy hearts. I have to say I am quite jealous. I have not been well this past week, as with many people who have ended up caught out by the lovely covid ... so have not been able to get out and about to choose my own candy stash 😂 but we rise again... and I finally managed to post again today... thank you for your support on it. I appreciate it. I will try to post a couple more times this week and get back into the swing of things. It was quite frustrating having to sit back and just rest. Sigh... I must check out the Inkwell and Freewriters to see what the prompts are this week. I feel like I need to write another short story. Love the heart you created and your little Valentine corner in your home. Those wine glasses are to die for❣️

So sorry you have been dealing with covid. I had only personally known a couple of people that actually had it in the last couple of years, but since this past Christmas, multiple people in my family have had it. It is raging around here ! Hope you feel much better real soon.
I've eaten too many candy hearts today, but now that you mention it, I'm thinking I should have JUST a few more....LOL !

So many people have had it where I am ... but then there are lots of schools concentrated in a small geographical area too and many families have been hit, although thankfully not many too hard. haha I think I may have to go and get myself some candy hearts today ... stop teasing lol. I spoil me too. I spent my V Day pulling my trailer through the mountains. Hearing my new Cummins diesel purr while effortlessly pulling that trailer makes me smile every time. I must be worth it too. At least I think so lol.
I know that had to be fun, the first trip down with the new truck and seeing how it handled.
