Happy Sundayyyyyyy !
Well... it is over here at least. It's quiet and I am having a lazy morning before I get myself ready to go to Mom's. You always know the Sunday story, with very few exceptions, I will be heading out to Moms for lunch and an afternoon visit. I cooked some pork ribs last night, added green beans to the broth after they were done and saved out a little broth to cook some baby carrots in, which I did while the beans were cooking. I also have some Bob Evans mashed potatoes to go with it if we want.
I baked another pan of Old Fashioned Sweet Potato Pudding. I made some for the first time last week. We each had a piece for dessert. I meant for Mom to keep some and I thought she had taken some out, but when I got home I saw that she had not taken any. I emailed her later and apologized for not having looked in the pan before I left. She said she meant to keep some, so I made some fresh again this weekend. It worked out well, because I had bought a bag of sweet potatoes and there was enough left for a second batch.
I made this simple collage earlier this week with cool colors. I made the collage papers that I used on it. Although it is very simple, there is something I really like about it.
As I was looking through my photos to see what else I could add besides my art, I came across this ancient photo of me at the beach as a child, jumping a small wave. My two brothers are a little behind me. When I was growing up, my parents took us on a beach vacation for a week nearly every summer. It was always so much fun. Sometimes we went alone and some years my Grandparents or some of my Mom's brother's families rented a big water front cottage together or side by side. They were always decent places, but not fancy hotels with pools and we didn't feel slighted. We swam and played in the ocean and in the sand all day and didn't think two ways about it.
As I got much older, I over thunk what might be under the water I couldn't see, so although I did go in, it was usually only if others were already out in the water. That sounds backwards doesn't it?... swim freely as a child, become a scaredy cat as an adult. LOL !! They may have done a few too many shark movies ! Still, I love being at the beach and walking in the edge of the water or sitting under a colorful umbrella. I haven't been there now in more years than I am exactly sure of. I'm not as likely now to just jump in the car and take the 4 hour trip alone. I think about it from time to time though. I do hope I get to go again before it's all over.
I hope you have all been having a good weekend.
Luv Ya !

I hope you get to go again. Walking along the side of the beach is awesome. As is jumping the waves!
I hope I do too! My left knee is a little fussy sometimes now, so I'm not sure about the wave jumping.... but maybe just a little one. 😄
A little skip, hehe!
Yeah.... maybe just one foot will hop over. LOLOLOL !
