Hello !
One night I was playing at my art table and I was between "normal" pieces of art. I had a little more time before bedtime, so I took a few very small scraps and made a quick small collage. I actually liked it and.... it was fun!
THEN, I thought, maybe I should make tiny art to use in the SNAPS stream. It wasn't so I could bore the fire out of folks talking about tiny collage art all the time, but I could use them just as a random photo when I wanted to post a sentence or two of nonsense that had no photo to go with it. I know you don't have to have a photo, but I LIKE having a photo.
Besides, how much of an excuse do I need to make small art, not just small, but sometimes TINY ?!
This is a pile of some that I have created so far. I haven't used most of them to Snap yet, so if you do the SNAP thingy, you could see one or two of them again down the road. I won't post them but once each there. I have to keep a file on my desktop so I can remember what I have used there already.
This is one of my more normal size pieces that I have been creating the last few months. Although I have done a few larger, most of them have been like this 5x7 size.
Here is a photo where you can see the difference. The "littles" are adorable, right?
I did post this one on Snap this morning, I posted just the art and then in the comments I put this same art with the clothes pin for reference.
Like I said above, it's been very fun and is giving me something to do with a lot of my little, colorful scraps. I will also be brainstorming to come up with some ways I can use some of them on a larger piece of art or cards or....whatever I can think up. I'm even curious myself as to what other ideas I can come up with.
Now for a random thought. Do you ever think something dull and benign and then wonder "hmmmm....should I post this on hive?".... well... that is what happened to me this morning.
You know I am old'ish .. right ? So things change all around as you age. For me, even scratching an itch, no pun intended LOL.... just your regular skin itch, the no reason itch, the itch you usually scratch with your finger nails without even thinking about it and it's gone.
Well....at some point my skin became more sensitive, I don't know why. I am supposing it is just an age thing. They say your skin gets thinner as you age, so I've thought it must be something like that. I think I am good at accepting and adapting. I like that about myself.... so, when it got to certain times where the was an itch on my leg or arm or the such when I automatically go to scratch it the normal way, with my finger nails, sometimes it feels to harsh or abrasive to my skin. What ??? Annoying ! Anyway, a good while back I found that I could scratch backwards with my nails and it was much less harsh feeing to my skin. Somehow, the nails are smoother on the front side than on the back next to the skin. Does that make sense?
Instead of reaching out and drawing my nails across the itch as I pull them back towards my hand, I start with my fingers bent and push out across the itch. Did everybody else know this already? Have I been "scratching" wrong all my life?
😂
So now, I have found further that I don't even need to "scratch" with my nails at all. I can just rub the tips of my fingers over the itchy spot and just disturb the skin with the pressure and that makes the itch stop just as good.
I made myself laugh typing all that. SEE??? Some random thought nonsense that landed on Hive.
I know, you're thinking "You should get out more"....ahahahahahah
Ok, that's all the shenanigans I have for now.
Hope you are all doing well and are having a happy weekend.
Love you !
Jacey
Haha Jacey, I've also learnt the senior-scratching trick.
We need to set up a prompt with hints and tips on how 'seniors' navigate life when the body starts to show wear and tear but the mind says otherwise😅
Let it stay forever young!
Your creations are stunning as always, I love the tiny art🥰
Thank you Lizelle!
Fortunately, most of the changes come slowly and one at a time and I get a chance to figure it out and make the "new way" part of my life habits. An instruction book would be nice though, to help us figure out the solution a little faster... LOL !
Although once I typed that, I'm not sure, do we really need to anticipate needing all those modifications before we get there? Should we let ourselves be blissfully unaware of all that we'll have to face as long as it lasts??? 😄 I'm not sure.
Hahahahahha, I don't know but what I do know is that right now I am trying out the "scratching" ways on my arm lol 🤣🤣
This is sooooo adorable 😍😍
LOL @ "I am trying out the "scratching" ways on my arm"
Who knew there were scratching alternatives ??? hee hee
...and Thank You ! I couldn't believe how much I really liked these tiny things, but I have been compelled to make more. There must be a future reason, there simply must be!
Thanks for stopping over !
Now we finally know that truth 😂
That's cool you made these and indeed, how much pleasure can be found in these things, even tiny. Art is like an addiction, didn't you know? haha
Happy weekend, @jacey.boldart 😇
