Sigil Arcanum SPECTRUM

in #art7 years ago

Good morning, I wanted to share with everyone what I've been staring at for the last few months. This thing has changed and evolved as time has gone on. I'm pleased to announce that this is the final version of the Major Arcana, all of them, in order.

Some of you may recall a similar poster I made a while back, when the deck was leaning toward a more black and white feel. I am still planning to print them, because I personally want to use an all black version. However, as I've shared this project with people, I have received overwhelming support, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has talked to me about buying a deck already. I promise that I will have it available this year, and if / when the Kickstarter is a success, there will plenty of variety when it comes to this deck.

I am also writing a book for the deck, I'm planning a 112-page card size book, as well as a longer, more thorough book detailing the sigils, and the components and symbols that went into crafting each of them. There have been many sources of inspiration for this deck, and they all deserve credit.

I want to thank my friends and family for supporting me through this project, especially the folks at the Eye of Horus Metaphysical shop in Minneapolis' Uptown. I have received tremendous feedback, and resources from coworkers who I consider close friends, and experts in the esoteric. I'd also like to thank everyone here on Steemit for watching this process of alchemy unfold. Art is alchemy, the process of destruction and creation. Destruction of ideas, and rebuilding ideas from the ashes, much like a Phoenix. Improving and changing, reshaping and learning. The final product, the Rubedo of alchemy, is the ultimate goal of art. But of course, art is never done, it is simply due. I am very happy with these designs, and I'm excited to see them printed in the flesh so to speak.

I am really looking forward to seeing these in print and really diving into these as contemplative focii. Nicely done, my friend!

Thank you Erik! I'm excited to share these ideas with the world!

Good job, and great work.

Fascinating concept.

I'm glad you're interested, what do you like about it? What do you dislike about it?

The concept is fantastic.

Its aesthetically STUNNING.

I think the symbols in general themselves can be better designed. A number of them are great and effective.

I appreciate the suggestions friend, any cards in particular you had in mind?

I have too many opinions on your designs to write it all out. It would take several hours.

Holy Majoly!!! I simply cannot wait to see the printed cards, its gonna be MEGA dude. I love this version a lot and my eyes almost popped outta my head when I saw this picture this morning! So beautiful. I also respect where you're coming from about Art. 'The Rubedo of Art' that's a cool word, what does it mean? ☆

Thank you for the kind words, I'm also very very excited to see this deck printed. The Rubedo is the final stage in the alchemical process, it signifies the completion of the great work, the end of the Magnum Opus. It is effectively death and finality. Every project comes to an end. Then it simply exists, be it in memory, tangibly, or otherwise.

Rubedo is latin for Red or Reddening, the color of blood.

I love those. The color work on the sigils is outstanding.

Thanks Jakob! I love working with gradients honestly.
