I still have to learn 3d but I'm sure it would be fun to make ^^ Will try eventually
if you want to learn 3d, go for Zbrush, it is a fantastic software with a lot of free hand sculpting capabilities, i have been using it since forever and i am thinking to post some of my work here ;-)
