Based on his proximate analysis, marine worms or Polychaeta sp are rich in protein.

Caciing has a much higher protein content than chicken eggs and cow's milk. By comparison, sea worms contain 43.84% protein content, while eggs and cow's milk are only 12.2% and 3.50% respectively. Phosphorus levels in sea worms (1.17%) are also quite high when compared with eggs of chicken (0.02%) and cow's milk (0.10%). Sea worms even have a calcium content (1.06%) which is still higher than the calcium content of cow's milk is only 0.12%.
