Inktober Roundup - 31 Drawings for the Month of October

in #art5 years ago

October is over and I finished the race with 31 black and white drawings, to challenge of Inktober! This year, I focused on the theme of the Legend of Zelda, which is called Linktober. Every day had a very specific prompt, which ranged from specific characters, locations, and species. I enjoyed making these very much. Please take a look at all 31 drawings in sequence.

I'll admit, some of these were challenging, especially when prompted to draw a character or environment that I had never previously illustrated. I had to look up screenshots and official artwork to use as reference to make sure I am as accurate as possible in my depictions.

Some characters, like Link and Zelda, are pretty straightforward and have been the subject of many of my fan arts. Some of my first timers included The Hero's Shade, the three Goddesses, Beetle, Skull Kid, Midna, among more. When deciding which version to illustrate of these characters, I think I preferred using the Twilight Princess versions because I am partial to the more detailed, realistic designs.

I also tried to be varied and illustrate many difference races/species of characters. I believe I have Hylians, Sheikah, Gerudo, Kokiri, Zora, Rito, and Koroks all accounted for. Some of the ones I missed include Gorons, Kikwis, Ooccoo, and a few others from Skyward Sword.

Overall, I am satisfied with how these turned out. I used my iPad Pro 12 and Bamboo Paper. This particular app doesn't utilize layers, so it very much felt like a close resemblance to drawing on real paper with pencil, pen, and marker. These are comparatively sketchier and less polished than my usual artwork, but was good practice nonetheless to get in the habit of drawing every day.

I will strive to accept the Inktober challenge next year, perhaps with a different theme. Any suggestions?
