Hi steemians, hope you all are feeling great today.
So kinda took a different twist on this one,I tried pulling some art realism stunts here mehn..
I Did not exactly take much progress shot pictures on this, guess I could not just wait to get done with it. Let's take a brief look at what we've got tho.
Medium:Graphite pencils,Charcoal pencil,White Pastel Pencil,Grey paper,White Gel Pen & Brush to Blend
Here,so sorry I have got just one progress shot to share, including the steps i took to achieve a dope outcome.
Progress shot
Step 1
So I sketched out the outline first and as usual started detailing afterwards..Since I didn't use my regular white paper here, didn't shade the regular way..
Taking a deep study into the Paper being used ,I realized it could assist in attaining a middle skin tone(because of its colour) without much time and stress..
Step2
Basically I detailed the eyes with my charcoal pencil then I shaded the areas with dark tones on the face first, scribbled out some obvious skin textures with my graphite pencil. I shaded the hair with charcoal pencil and used white pastel and white gel to represent the grey hairs.
Step 3
I left out light toned spots as the grey toned paper helped to serve as the middle tone,I blended the shaded areas a little into them tho, to prevent a flat appearance, since the aim was Realism, then I applied my white pastel pencil on the lighter spots..I did all these on all the facial features, and the neck afterwards..
Step 4
Applied my white gel pen on the shining areas of the skin, for enhanced highlights..
Then I used my white pastel to shade the cloth..
All this steps did I take to achieve an encouraging outcome...

Very well done work, like how beautifully you worked on skin, the combination of different mediums gave such smooth transmission from dark to light. Good realistic portrait!
Also I would advice to use tag #oc or #ocd as OCD is doing curation of Artworks so it is easy to be seen. Good luck!
Thanks
