SCARETALE 1 - "LA SAYONA"

in #art7 years ago

Human mind can be a labyrinth without escape sometimes, our imagination is perhaps the most precious gift we have as species, unison are the feelings stimulating it. Maybe there's no emotion more influential on it than fear. Fear is one of those emotions that we experience frequently, in front of diverse circumstances. It is capable of consuming us, so much that it can change our perception of reality, of time-space, and even take us to high states of paranoia and finally to completely madness.

We know the people of the world through their language, their traditions, their religions, their rituals for both life and death ... Knowing a culture through that way, helps us understand how they perceive their fears.

With that being said, I proposed myself a special task... Which is bring to Steemit a series of legends and stories related to the fear, because... Why not? Who doesn't like to read about creepy sh*t? It is interesting, at least for me. These "scaretales" are meant to let us known as culture and you'll realize we are all the same, we feel the same way, we fear the same way.

It's believed that the very first legend I am going to tell you, took place in the colonial period of Apure, a state located in the southwest of Venezuela. This story belongs to the venezuelan folklore and it is based in a legend of a woman, a woman known as "La Sayona"

SAYONA stands for "executioner" "punisher"

Casilda, a beautiful young lady whose hair was so long and silky, black as night itself. Through her eyes, you could see the passion she felt for her lover, a passion so intense that was literally her curse. Not only she was known due her physical features, she was a cellopath and what better combustible than be married to a womanizer.

As a beutiful woman she was and due her "man" was always out, which she always complained. Casilda had a friend who loved her. This guy used to follow her husband to give the "news" about her man. Through those stories that he used to tell her, he wanted Casilda to leave her man, he wanted her to realize that her man was not worth it. He wanted her to escape with him, to love him, only him.

Yeah, another psychopath D:

She knew her husband very well. The love she felt for him was so sick... he can't be with other but her, she wouldn't never allow him that, she rather kill... and so she did.

One day, tired of being just a friend, tired of not being corresponded by Casilda. Tired of being consumed by that unbridled passion. A flame that was burning him, an obsession. A desire that would be satisfied only by having her and only her. The most malicious of the plans was created in his mind, that very day he told Casilda: "I've seen your mother and your husband together, cuddle, they've been together all this time, they've been laughing behind your back".

And just like a spark of fire falling straight into a lake of gasoline, Casilda's jealousy started to consume her, the pain she felt was so strong, so unbelieveble. She felt an unimaginable rage that she did not even took a single second to think. To think that crazy thing she just heard from her "friend". She needed this pain stop, she needed revenge, she needed to kill.

Casilda ran to her place, saw that her mother had arrived, her husband was conveniently in the house. Without thinking, she picked up a knife and simply ran to her husband and stabbed him to death, she did the same to her mother, her creator, her god. As she wa bleeding, Casilda was asking why. "Why you? Why him?" she said. Every question. A stab to her mother.

With her last breath, her mother just said: "You took my life. How could you? To your own mother. I curse you! Without God you will wander, in search of men to safe you from your sins, but you will not succeed, because you will remember this very moment. SAYONA. God, let it be."

Casilda instantly was turning into a spectrum, a demon. With long tusks, nails. Her eyes were red as if the Hell itself was inside her, she tore her clothing, grew as tall as trees. And finally, understanding her biggest mistake... She screamed.

VENEZUELA OF TODAY

These kind of legends are meant to scare children and those who dare to cheat but some believe and are 100% sure that this is a true story, some have seen "La Sayona" in the distances, wandering. Some have said they almost die because of her. She lures you with her hypnotic beauty and once you are in confidence with her, she shows off her trueself...

If you ever come to Venezuela, beware! Dont go out late at night alone. Might be not a true story but they say: "better an alive chicken than a fried chicken" :P

With "they" I meant me, I know, it's a bad one x.x

GOOD NIGHT! And thanks for reading.
