RE: Individuation

WOW! This is SICK! I love it so much. How many layers thick is it? From the way it looks you've got an entire sheaf of paper. It really does draw you in right to the middle and I love how simple yet elegant your subject is. From reading your post it seems you only used two pieces of paper but the depth perception on it seems so like it goes so deep. It's so real looking I can't tell what is paint and what is paper. It's amazing what you've done with water colors.

Besides the beautiful painting you've created, I love your reasoning for the stylistic approach. The key word being tedious. I'm a video editor and I've had so many people ask how I can do it. The word most often used is tedious. And I always say the same thing, I LOVE the tedious nature of it. It is truly hypnotic and very much approximates meditation for me. There's something so satisfying about taking multiple pieces of something and putting them together to create a very evident final product that can be viewed and appreciated by many. My agreement with you in this is spot on.

Thank you so much for sharing your process! I really enjoyed your post and the painting you ultimately created. It is quite a piece of art. Cheers!

Thanks @jocqua yup It's only 2 sheets deep

That's awesome. Well you've created that depth perception perfectly. Very well done!
