As I mentioned in the previous blog I chose to print through Amazon's print on demand services called KDP. I must say the quality is quite good, the colors for inner pages are close to the original pdf file.

I'm glad of how it turned out and to finally have the book in my hands.

The good news is, you can buy your very own copy, with HIVE!

I have set the book for sale in the Hivelist store from @thelogicaldude which offers Hive Pay as a payment method at checkout. Go see it here.

Alternatively it's also on Gumroad and Amazon (Just change to your prefered/local Amazon website).

If you order through Gumroad or Hivelist I am forwarding your request to Amazon's print on demand as an author copy. The printing costs are around 10$ and as Amazon's printing platforms are all around the world, shipping fee remains reasonable (I paid about 3 euros). Also this direct process saves me from Amazon's infamous distribution fees... So you are supporting further more my creative endeavors. ;-)

Thanks again for following along in this adventure. Hive definitely made it more fun to carry on. More to come this year, I'm sure.

See you on the other side,

Jrej

Hi @jrej, you were just shared some LUV thanks to @steevc. Holding 10 LUV in your wallet enables you to give up to 3 LUV per day, for free. See the LUV in your wallet at https://hive-engine.com or learn about LUV at https://peakd.com/@luvshares https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmUptF5k64xBvsQ9B6MjZo1dc2JwvXTWjWJAnyMCtWZxqM

That looks great. I may have to buy a copy for my collection.

!LUV

Hehe I hope you will. Thanks for the LUV. ;-)

I've ordered a copy! Should get it soon.

First sale! Thanks a ton for your support!

No problem. Hive has rewarded me well and I like to share the benefits.

That is awesome!!! Did you know you can sell digital copies as well on the site? You have to set virtual and downloadable

Also well done on the platform. Looks great!

Hehe. I actually added the pdf version as a downloadable in the same product. The comic is already free to read through hive blogs so I see it as a little bonus. I haven't reached the 5 product limit so I'll think of some other art related goods to add to my store. ;-)

Awesome! That's really good work!

Nice! Looks great!

Good job!

Thanks a lot @nateaguila. I spent so much time on this. I'm glad it saw the light of day.

Congrats. I find it fascinating how you monetized production time utilizing Hive and now have a finished product ready for the store shelves.

It's been eye opening for me to start when I first started posting on Steem/Hive. I wished other creators knew about that wonderful ecosystem. I hope to make it easier for them with a Hive front end I'm working on. Blockchain really changed how I see social media and content creation online. I guess that's the same for all of us, right?

We're on to something huge here, with so many different possibilities, and it's right under everyone's noses, but so many still have trouble seeing it. Many wouldn't recognize how big of a deal what you just did truly is.

Recently I came across a Youtuber creating stop motion videos. That takes hard work, time, dedication, money. They came here, talked about it, did a bit of a 'making of' presentation, and straight up found a way to monetize production time. I mean, it's not anything new. Part of buying movies for the longest time was maybe spending a bit more on the DVD package that came with the deleted scenes and commentary along with various behind the scenes shots. But to do this independently? Wow. And that's so much better than offering multiple instances of the same content across various platforms. We see that far to often. Placing exclusive content on Youtube, then exclusive content here based on the same content but offering a new experience, that's so much more valuable to creators. Spamming everywhere is just a fancy way of eliminating much of your potential market on most of the platforms that content can be found.

Again. Kudos to you. I apologize for not being able to support it every step of the way but I was well aware of the project and was checking in. And now I see it's done. Again. Congratulations.

Hehe thanks again.

I do think with time, the creative space on hive will become more and more competitive and it will be hard to stand out. Basically like any other platform.

However the blockchain fixes the ad-based and donation based business models which are not optimal for entertainment consumers.

I hope to find new ways to introduce blockchain to people. I'm working on my comic hosting platform @inkito, and I have an idea for a video game which should gamify the experience while teaching basic blockchain Interaction.

As I said to @ryivhnn I'm gonna take some time to think about my next creative project. It should matter, if it takes me another 10 years. ;-)

How did it feel to hold a physical copy in your hot little hands? XD

Yay for more to come :)

How did it feel? You know I was so studious looking for imperfections that I hadn't realized the achievement.
I now see all the work I put in that led to this. It's actually a big moment for me. A page turns (pun intended).

I'm still indecisive about my next project. I keep reminding myself, "who cares what you do, you don't have to spend years on it! It could be only for a month"... But what if I get carried away and it takes me another 10 years to finish? I have to choose wisely.

Also I'm fully focused on Inkito at the moment, so I have time to decide later...

LoL it would be! Pun and all XD

I've been 20 years on mine and still building so don't feel bad ;D

Sometimes good things just take time XP

But letting next project simmer to perfection on a backburner while you concentrate on Inkito seems like a good call too ;D

That is awesome! I used KDP to self-publish a couple of paperback non-fiction books a few years ago. Back then they didn't have the ability to make interior color pages. It is pretty amazing how far publishing tech has come with print on demand services.

Yep the quality on the inner pages are very good. Kdp does not offer much options for the cover thought. I would have loved to try a glossy effect on the title. I guess that's not really possible with print on demand...

Hey, that's fantastic! I will need to check it out later today!

Thanks for passing by. The story is all free to read on Hive if you're interested. ;-)
