I was joking with my friends about this one, but there is always some true in jokes..
And joke was, it's me seeing myself after life storms that pass me last 25 years, and I survived them each time they hit.
I was joking I even gave medals to myself here for that bravery :)
I played with symbols here, like those houses on top of her hat.
It's funny with those houses.
I think we all tend to have some ''base'' and I always considered myself that kind of person.
But life had other plans for me since I was 19 years old, and send me the war on the door step and made me refugee.
Than other things came and home was something I was craving to build for a long time.
And yes, home is where you feel it like home, but believe me, as long as you are renting flats you can't feel that way :)
So, here is new watercolor I named ''Brave'' - how modest of me :)
Enjoy!

We all need some medals in our lives, especially when we work so hard in the battle of Art and Life, eh?
Lovely. I see you are on Saatchi, do you like it? I think I started an account there last there and then never really added much. I'm trying to make a list of all the possible places to be this year as part of my art goals, but being with family and dealing with that has left me a bit behind.
I'm so glad to see you on Steemit again. Though, I've not been posting daily like I used to, hopefully again soon :)
Not sure what to tell you about Saatchi, only that I believe if I post good art someday it will pay off. For now i just sold some prints over them. And for me it's easiest way for sale, since it's hard to do abroad sales from here.
And you are guaranteed that you will get your money, and they are handling shipment.
You should try, why not?
You never know :)
This one is especially vivid. I'm impressed how much depth and vibrancy you're able to get from watercolor. The strength of her (your?) expression adds a lot too.
Thank you :) I said, it's sort of self portrait, but she is more beautiful than me, and thinner hahaha .
I suppose, that watercolor skill comes out from my deep love for this technique @winstonalden.
Aaaah what a beautiful painting. I like all the pattern in her clothes, and she is plenty decorated too, I wonder what each of those medals represents. I like her lack of expression face and the beautiful wide sky. The open sky is what I like the most from this painting. What a lovely one, Dunja :D.
Patterns are inspired with Gaudi mosaics :) I got book from a friend as a present and now I am playing with images from it.
Than you dear @scrawly for you always detailed comments :)
So beautiful, @jungwatercolor :) I love the expression on her face, she looks like she is 'Grace under Fire' and that she has seen enough life and survived enough life to have a confidence in her own abilities to overcome what life can throw at her from now on!
Obviously, her medals are pretty impressive, and yes I agree that sometimes we have to award ourselves some medals in this life :) I can only imagine what you have gone through, being able to weather all the ups and downs of your life, having been a refugee and all that! You have my respects, @jungwatercolor <3
I love her dress, the colours and patterns are beautiful, I love her hat, and the buildings on top of it, I think there is symbolism here that speaks that a woman can hold up an entire city on top of her.... :) Beautiful work, Dunja <3 As usual, your delicate colours bring so much of your own strength and uniqueness <3 <3 <3
It's just life @veryspider, and what kind of cards you were given.
Despite everything I just love life :) Maybe it's reason I managed each time to get up.
And off course, gift of creating art that was given to me helped me thousand times in those situations.
Thank you for your kind words :)

You deserve all those medals and more! You are a strong woman, a survivor and a free spirit. Your smile is your biggest medal!
