Those performance art works that touch you

in #art5 years ago

Really good performance art is not a show, but a "silent" expression. The artist becomes a part of the work, and as the work spreads, it triggers thinking. It's not just a stimulating performance, but to feel what happened in an era.

"Ice Buddha" by Tibetan artist Gad. In the winter of 2006, the water of the Lhasa River was frozen and cast into a Buddha, and then returned to the Lhasa River for melting. From casting to melting, from birth to destruction, impermanence and reincarnation.

Mother of performance artist-Marina Abramovich. The performance art called "Rhythm 0" in Italy in 1974 almost killed him, and the results were very shocking.
Seventy-two props are on the table, and she is also a prop, and she takes full responsibility for what happened to her within 6 hours. Feel the performance after anesthetizing yourself. Everyone began to use lipstick to doodle and fiddle with her body ... After the clothes were cut, someone began to hurt her with roses, knives, guns, etc. Finally, she was scarred and full of despair ...
Afterwards, the artist said sadly: What I learned from this performance is that if you leave the decision to the audience, they may kill you!
In less than 6 hours, the audience gradually became rude from the initial care and caution, and the dark side of humanity was exposed step by step ...
When people can act without taking responsibility, their behavior becomes careless!

"Sometimes Making Something Leads to Nothing"

In 2010, at the "Gaze" scene in New York, Marina and Ulay met each other 22 years later.
Marina sat on the bench for 716 hours and accepted 1,500 people looking at each other, and finally saw Ulay, a 22-year-old love, crying.

Sometimes I was thinking that when two people who have truly loved each other meet for a long time, no matter how uncomfortable they were when they separated, there will be a tear in one side.
