🎨The Day in the Life of an Artist: The Creative Process 🎨

Last year I published my first coloring book for adults called “Life of the Wild.” If you are interested in purchasing a book click here (it is on Amazon, and it ships worldwide! Prints on demand so there is zero waste!)

I thought it would be fun to share with you my creative process and how I come up with my ideas. Creativity, has always come to randomly, but often my ideas are inspired by nature or my surroundings. When I draw, I typically like to look at a reference, but I don’t necessarily need it. In this particular drawing, I did use a photo reference of my rabbit.

First step: Sketch out the basic outline of the drawing in pencil

lay it over in pen

It’s halfway done

This is the final product!

Joey, my rabbit, loved his self portrait so much that he peed on one of my books!

Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on my creative process. What do you like to do to get creative? What tends to inspire you?

Sort:

Hmmm. You just inspired me to make a kama sutra coloring book set to the backdrop of 1930's Germany.

"Joey, my rabbit, loved his self portrait so much that he peed on one of my books!" - having your muse pee on your art. If that's not flattery, I don't know what is :)

Hahah right? 🙃

that rabbit looks ready for the pot!

the pot? to eat? LOL
