Making Money, By GIVING AWAY Freebies!

in #art8 years ago

Giving away your stuff for free, Is risky. Usually, the end goal is to get more followers or more potential sales.
Many marketers/ authors etc. Give away freebies when they can.

I'm not getting the volume of sales I want

So I'm changing my tactics.

MORE FREEBIES!

With my somewhat "Niche" being in adult coloring books, Sometimes I have to get creative on giving free stuff to customers. Many people who write Kindle books give away blog posts and other written content. So I give away coloring pages. Coloring pages can take hours and hours to draw. Plus they are harder to be traced, People can steal them, Alter them and publish them under a new name, Of course this is illegal. But we see it happen. This adds to the risk of giving away free coloring pages.

I realized as I was using some of my favorite FREE stock photo websites. That these photographers can actually be "tipped" also spread their brand by sharing some great photos. This clicked in my head. If I give away free coloring pages, and stay within my designated niche, I may be able to get a reasonable amount of downloads and traffic to my page.

Some of the free stock photo sites I use..

  • Pixabay
  • Pexels
  • Morguefile
  • Unsplash.

The cons of me using this tactic:

  • People are legally allowed to use my art for commercial use.
  • They don't have to give me credit,
  • They can alter the image as they please.

This makes it complicated, So I may not get credit. But someone who is consistently leeching off of me may throw me a few bucks. And some people concerned, May try to trace where the original came from, Which they'll find me.
Maybe I'm stupid, But this seems like a great opportunity to be seen out there.

It's good to experiment!

I will definitely report my findings on this back to Steemit! I'm curious to see how this works out.
