The Tools:
- Mechanical Pencil.
- HB Leads.
- Charcoal Pencil.
- Moldable Eraser.
- Diffuser.
- Brush.
- A4 Opaline 300G.

I started by illustrating the mouth, I think it was the easiest thing. The fangs illustrate them with the HB Pencil, it was only for him to use it, apart from making the sketch. I used this pencil because it is very clear and allowed me to have the right tone and go up in tone in the shadows and volume.
I used the charcoal pencil to make the depth of the mouth and the dark areas

- With the charcoal pencil and much but a lot of patience i was doing the scales or corrugated skin.
Some time ago i made a drawing of a Dragon, doing this was similar only that this type of skin has many more details.

I made each scale and detail of the face only with the charcoal pencil. At first it looked like a crocodile then it was taking shape, every hour that passed it looked different.
I took advantage to make some darker scales, this is because there are areas where there is no light exposure or spots of the skin. remember that these animals are not completely of the same color.

With the brush I gave the dark tones and pronounced the goats of his face.
With very smooth strokes of charcoal i made some spots on their scales.

The thing is getting complicated, here we have to work a lot with the light and the relief of his body, with the brush and the diffuser i made the volume of the body.
So pronounce the cavities and darker areas.

This part was very complicated, is to give volume to each scale with the moldable eraser.
The technique i applied here was to erase at the edge of each scale, to give an effect of overexposure. i like this technique a lot because it gives a different visualization to the illustrations, apart from giving the necessary realism. This is not about giving light, although the draft is used the effect it gives is highlighted, if applied otherwise this can go wrong, you have to look at which direction the light penetrates and then define the volume.
While i was advancing in the shading and illustration of the dinosaur, i was giving volume to the scales with the moldable eraser.
At the end i made the little horns and gave him light with the moldable eraser. After many hours of this intense work this is the Final Art:

I LOVE dinosaurs 🦖!! There’s an artist here in Phoenix AZ that makes portraits of dinosaurs wearing tutus 🤩. I LOVE that you make them so well, you’re reminds me of hers. Very well done! Please make more!! I love dinosaurs 🦕 ❤️
Hey! Really?? I would like to see it! it's the first time i illustrate a dinosaur! Does this artist have an Instagram or a web page?
The artist name is Leah Kiser. I was able to admire her artwork and talk to her during an expo at the Phoenix Zoo. Look her up and you’ll see.
Here are some smart phone photos I took while volunteering at the zoo.

Oh!! Look at that! They have tutu!! Hahaha the work is amazing! Have a Lot of creativity!
Her art is just amazingly fun for such serious creatures you know ☺️
