MidJourney updates and tomorrow's livestream debate w/ @swarddraws!

in #art2 years ago

What’s happening, Hive family? It’s late and I should be asleep but I’m winding down and wanted to share some of my day and what’s occupying my mind lately. With Immutable Realms now behind me, I’m focusing on @mirrorpool projects, namely @neverwel. I have a few commissions I’m working on in parallel for EOS and Eden, but the stress is tremendously less than it was during the production of the zine. I ran errands and then sat and drew one of the final characters for @neverwel at @caffetto. Still managed to fit in Kickboxing during a very busy day and I’ve been laying in bed here trying to calm my mind.

I wanted to share some new AI generated art tonight. I’ve been falling deeper and deeper in to the curiosity that is MidJourney. My prompt writing ambitions are improving and I’m getting results closer to what I saw in my head. It’s taking a lot of adjustment but I’ve even been able to achieve comic book/sketch/inking styles to my liking. My brother, @customnature and I, are still running an account on Instagram called @brothersalbtraum. It’s a repository for the evolution and development of what can be done in both visual art and some of the poetry and writings from OpenAI chat bots.

Tomorrow night, @swarddraws and I will be doing our second AI art debate on Instagram live. If you aren’t following me there already, you can follow this link:

We hosted a live debate last Wednesday and it was a big hit. Quite a few people showed up and participated. @swarddraws and I battled out the points of view and tomorrow, we’ll be joined by legendary illustrator and print maker, Angry Blue. This should be one a good one.

I’m still so amazed that we’re living through this time. My friend @ryanashley put it best on her Instagram story the other day, “I love being alive during a time that I remember life without the internet, and life with artificial intelligence.”. I’m a technologist, futurist and transhumanist. I would be first in life for a NeuralLink chip and this is just an extension of my fascination and curiosity with how far this technology can go. Maybe naively, I’m not at all worried about AI effecting my art or career, at least in a negative way. I only see the upside and I love it.

Maybe AI's affect Will have more impact than its effect on art

Midjourney is really something else. Nice prompts man!

That is a really good point. Many of us have our feet squarely on both sides of the aisle. At least people around my age anyway. We can fully embrace all of this great stuff because we remember what it was like without it!
