Yo! How is it going? I'd love to share to you this portrait I recently made. I actually do commission portraits; may it be charcoal, pen and ink, or coloured pencils. I'm also trying to learn to do a portrait using watercolor or paint, it's kind of hard for me tho haha.
Anyway, here's one of my recent commissioned portraits. I'll be sharing as well the process and the challenges I encountered along the way.
Colored Pencil Portrait on 9x12 pad
I used Prisma Premiere Colored Pencils, (my new favorite brand) and a marker for this portait.
The reference
I made some changes and removed her hand from her neck. This portrait was a bit challenging because my reference wasn't 100% clear since she was just cropped from a group picture.
Process
Firstly, I got the right proportions and sketched the outline so it would be easier for me to do the details. I still used that "Forbidden technique" in fine arts tho lol
I outlined the first eye and started to color her left cheeks. I used burnishing technique.
I continued doing it until I was able to color the right cheeks and the middle part of the face. I still used burnishing technique and blending some colors to achieve realistic results.
I started detailing the eyes, the eyebrows, and the neck.
Then used a marker for the hair and it's done!
Thank you so much for spending your time. That's all for now! See you ~
