I think the dapp you are thinking about is Dlike, where you can share what you like. You can actually curate other people's stuff, remember when you take 1 work from someone else, its plagiarism but if you take 10 and bundle them together, its a curation post :^)
I propose you taking pieces of art you enjoy, saving the name of the authors, post them here and show the post to them on their platform and show them that they can earn if they share their stuff here and participate, might even be a nice way to bring new users.
Doesn't look like the posts receive many upvotes on dlike, but it is what it is. Still, many dApps are shunned, like dMania and similar, Zappl and all the memes and short formats. Steepshot gets a bit of acceptance because it encourages original photography, but even then, there are curation and upvote services that refuse to promote Steepshot posts due to the "low effort".
I think that the change has to come from the philosophy and that a dApp won't bring this change by itself. People need to realise somehow that the self-centeredness is not helping us and that some outreach can be good to make our stakes grow.
